On the 10th of October, the Lebanese Center for Special Education (CLES) launched the second annual 10.10.DYS conference under the patronage of HE Minister Elias Bou Saab and with the presence of CLES Ambassador, French Movie Star Nathalie Baye.
C.L.E.S organized two training sessions during the week of October 11-14 at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education. The first training session, given by the Belgian members of C.L.E.S scientific committee, was for DOPS and was meant to train them in discerning specific learning disabilities in students in the intermediate educational level.
On October 4, 2016 CLES held a press conference and orientation session at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, with the attendance of Mr. Fadi Yarak the General Director of Education, to launch the activities it will be organizing in the different schools that are part of its Learning Support Classes Project.
C.L.E.S. organized its annual team training workshop on August 18 and 19 at the Al Bustan Hotel in Beit Meri with the participation of the Lebanese and Belgian scientific committee, center therapists, administrative staff, and other C.L.E.S. stakeholders.
As part of the C.L.E.S Learning Support Classes in public schools project scope of activities, the C.L.E.S team in partnership with the Guidance and Mentoring team of the Lebanese Ministry of Education held a series of meetings in all Lebanese regions for the purpose of following up on the project.
During the months of March and April, C.L.E.S. organized a tour of the play “Shou Bene Mama?”(What’s wrong with me Mother?). The play, created to raise awareness about specific learning disabilities, was performed in 20 public schools spanning all Lebanese regions.
